![]() ![]() You either had a guild that was running like a well oiled machine and organized grindy quest raids to get everyone the new uber gear, or your were shit out of luck when it came to end-game content. The expansion was a full on grindfest that would make Koreans flip their shit and it rewarded obscenely powerful items for a game whose main end-game attraction was large scaled PvP. ![]() ![]() Trials of Atlantis expansion killed that game. Although WoW actually did entirely destroy it and put the final nail in the coffin as it was about 99% of people playing it! It also temporarily killed the competitive TFC community for a few months whilst large chunks of various top level clans were playing DAoC instead of TFC. Hell, even the grinding to level system was quite fun because it could (although not always) be quite challenging and you would camp the same dungeon/spot for hours on end so you you'd just shoot the shit together (in both meanings of the phrase) and then head off for some quality PvP after. Went to shit after SI and I never went back but I will never forget the immense RvR battles and roving around the frontiers with a group of friends. ![]() I remember when we got our hands on this and all the fun we had in the initial release. When the beta came out I was mostly involved in the Team Fortress Classic community but it meant I had a lot of online/clan friends all hanging about in chat rooms together trying different stuff. ![]()
